Opportunity: The Town of Hardwick was looking for a way to utilize a 15 acre surplus parcel of land to create a new and recurring source of revenue. Through a competitive bid process, the town solicited proposals for a solar array with optimal municipal benefits.

Outcome: At the May 28th meeting of the Hardwick Board of Selectmen, MassAmerican Energy was chosen as the solar vendor with the best proposal for the town. The approved 6 megawatt array will not only offset the entire municipal electric load, but also create a new source of income in the form of a land lease and tax payment.
